WatchID Terms of Use

Effective date: September 3, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of WatchID, operated by HOROVIEW SAS, SIREN 909 354 110, whose registered office is at 11 bis rue Arsène Houssaye, 75008 Paris, France.

By using WatchID, you agree to these terms and Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

WatchID analyzes watch images and provides likely identification details, reference candidates, related information, and links to third-party listings. Features and data coverage may change and may vary by country, image, watch, or device.

2. Identification limitations

WatchID results are automated estimates for informational purposes. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable.

WatchID does not provide authentication, certification, valuation, appraisal, insurance, legal, financial, or investment advice. A result must not be treated as proof that a watch is genuine, safe to purchase, accurately priced, or correctly described. Independently verify important details with the manufacturer or a qualified professional before buying, selling, insuring, or valuing a watch.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep access to your account secure, and notify us of suspected unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

You may delete your account from the app. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these terms, address fraud or abuse, or comply with law.

4. Free scans and WatchID Pro

Each eligible account receives three free watch scans. Additional scans require an active WatchID Pro subscription.

WatchID Pro is available through auto-renewing weekly, monthly, and annual subscriptions. The price and billing period shown by Apple before purchase control your transaction. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Your subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple may charge your account within 24 hours before renewal.

Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Deleting WatchID or your WatchID account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Purchase restoration is available in the app for eligible transactions.

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, billing, cancellations, and refunds are administered by Apple under its policies.

5. Your images and content

You retain ownership of images and other content you submit. You grant HOROVIEW SAS a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, analyze, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, moderate, support, and improve WatchID.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions required to submit the content. You must not upload:

  • illegal, infringing, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, or deceptive content;
  • explicit, violent, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate content;
  • malware or material intended to disrupt the service;
  • personal or confidential information you are not authorized to share;
  • images that violate another person’s privacy, publicity, or intellectual-property rights.

6. Explore and public sharing

Public Scans is optional and off by default. If enabled, eligible watch images and identification details may appear in Explore.

We may use automated checks and human review to restrict, hide, or remove public content. Users may report scans and block contributors. We do not guarantee that all inappropriate content will be detected immediately.

You can disable public sharing in profile settings. Previously shared or reported information may remain temporarily in security records, moderation records, or backups.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • access or use WatchID unlawfully;
  • bypass free-scan limits, paywalls, access controls, or rate limits;
  • probe, scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or interfere with the service;
  • use automated access except through a written professional agreement or authorized API;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent an affiliation;
  • use results to facilitate fraud, counterfeiting, or infringement.

8. WatchID for Professionals

The professional API and organizational services described in the app are separate from the consumer app and WatchID Pro. They require a separate written agreement with HOROVIEW SAS and do not unlock consumer features or subscriptions.

9. Third-party services

WatchID may link to HOROVIEW, sellers, marketplaces, documentation, and other third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability, transactions, products, prices, representations, or privacy practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by its terms.

10. Intellectual property

WatchID, its software, designs, databases, and branding are owned by or licensed to HOROVIEW SAS and are protected by applicable law. Watch names, logos, and trademarks shown in images or results belong to their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation.

11. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law, improve the service, or respond to technical and commercial needs. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

12. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WatchID is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, authenticity, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

HOROVIEW SAS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, purchasing decisions, or third-party transactions arising from use of WatchID. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available in their country of residence. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes.

Before starting formal proceedings, contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated where required. Continued use after the effective date of revised terms constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
